We have advised and represented both traditional energy producers and those leading the transition to a low-carbon economy, and thus we are well-rounded in understanding the complexities of the European energy market, of which development is increasingly inseparable from EU environmental and climate objectives. Our services in this practise area inter alia include monitoring, conducting various research, strategic advising, representation in EU level trade associations, and running targeted public affairs campaigns both in Brussels and in the Member States’ capitals.
In terms of policy issues, our current efforts include working on such flagship policy initiatives at the EU level as the Energy Security Package (with a special attention to the Heating and Cooling Strategy), the Circular Economy Package and the recently published ‘Clean Energy for All Europeans’ Package. At the national level, we closely follow the transposition and implementation of several pieces of EU legislation, such as the NEC Directive, the MAC Directive and the F-Gas Regulation. We also regularly engage with EU secondary legislation, where ongoing examples include working with delegated acts under the RoHS Directive and working with implementing acts under the Ecodesign Directive 2009. Finally, our services are also applied to relevant policy developments occurring at the global stage; recent instances include the Marrakech round of the UNFCCC and the Kigali round of the UNEP’s Montreal Protocol.
With offices in several European capitals such as London, Berlin and Dublin, we closely collaborate with our international colleagues to draw on each other’s experience, to exchange intelligence and to coordinate engagement efforts across the continent in order to maximise our effectiveness in achieving our clients’ goals. We strive ourselves in being part of a dynamic and multicultural team that dedicates its ever growing collective wisdom to provide personalised public policy solutions to a wide range of companies with active business operations in one or more EU member states.
